Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 24, 2026

TRACE ("TRACE," "we," "us") operates the internet identity and reputation protocol at traceeco.io. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have over it. We built TRACE to verify real people, not to harvest data: we read only the signals needed to compute your reputation, and we never ask for secrets like passwords, seed phrases, or private keys.

1. Information we collect

You choose which networks to connect. We only process what those connections expose:

2. How we use it

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

3. What is public

TRACE is a public reputation network, so some information is visible to others: your X handle, display name and avatar, your TRACE Score, tier, passport, stamps, and the names of the networks you have connected. These appear on pages such as Top Passports and your public passport at /u/your-handle. Your wallet addresses are not shown publicly and are never displayed on public pages. Aggregate, tier-filtered exports (wallet, tier, and score only — no X handles) are available to logged-in users for allocation and whitelist purposes; connect a wallet only if you are comfortable with that use.

4. Third-party services

We rely on reputable third-party providers to deliver the service:

Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy, and we share only what is necessary for the feature you are using.

5. Cookies

We use only essential cookies: a signed session cookie to keep you logged in, short-lived security cookies during sign-in, and an invite-referral cookie when you arrive via an invite link. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

6. Storage, security, and retention

Data is held in a secure, access-controlled database and protected with signed sessions and standard safeguards. We keep your profile and connection data while your account is active. You can disconnect any network or wallet at any time from your Dashboard, and you can request deletion of your stored data by contacting us.

7. Your choices and rights

8. Children

TRACE is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the protocol evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.

10. Contact
